In a year filled with challenges, the LEGO Group’s Build to Give initiative inspired individuals worldwide to build hearts and share them on social media or LEGO Life using the hashtag #BuildtoGive during the month of December. For every heart shared, the LEGO Group would donate a LEGO set to a child in need of play. Since its inception in 2017, the #BuildToGive initiative has successfully donated more than 6.5 million LEGO sets. These sets are distributed through the LEGO Group’s network of local charity partners in 24 countries, making a significant difference in the lives of children facing adversity. My contribution for this year’s #buildtogive initiative. Inspired by the spirit of the initiative, the Philippine LEGO Users Group (PhLUG) found a heartwarming way to celebrate Christmas. We received an invitation to join the festivities at Mano Amiga Academy, a school dedicated to children from low-income families. The academy’s annual Christmas...
The X-Men returns again in 2024 with the LEGO Marvel X-Men X-Jet (76281) from the upcoming X-Men ’97 animated series. It’s also called the Blackbird but licensing issues may have caused LEGO to use the alternative name. The set has only 359 pieces but retails for an astonishing $84.99 much to the displeasure from fans. Is the set worth this price? Spoilers: It’s not. Minifigures There are four minifigures in the set, Wolverine, Cyclops, Rogue, and Magneto. Wolverine is actually different from the Series 2 LEGO Marvel Studios Collectible Minifigures (71039). The legs are also the same as before with the dual molding but my copy wasn’t fully printed so the blue is bleeding through the yellow. His double-sided head shows him with a smirk on one side...

We don’t talk about new LEGO sets much at BrickNerd—there are a plethora of other great sites that do that. However to help us keep the quality up and ads down, we need your help. If you are going to purchase any new LEGO sets and want to help out BrickNerd simultaneously, we ask that you use our affiliate link for LEGO.com. It is a great way to support community-focused journalism without costing you more than you already spend on LEGO. You can support BrickNerd at the same time you get your bouquet of roses, Creator camera or hamster wheel, or anything from the Space super-theme.
