Battle Royale is the hotness right now. I've played a few rounds, and while I wouldn't necessarily call myself the "best" (the highest I ranked was #19), it's still a lot of fun.  DR.Church recreated the iconic Battle Bus from the game, and it looks fantastic. Who doesn't love mecha? This MOC from Lu Sim is gorgeous. I dig the suit-of-armor aesthetic, and the use of the translucent castle door piece as a laser sword is a stroke of genius. When I first looked at this wonderful MOC by LEGO 7 I thought it was an official set, and that got me wondering, what made me think that? Is it the building style? The photography? I realize that even years after looking at LEGO creations every day I still don't totally understand the intangible, specific nuances that make an official set look like an official set. I have no idea what the genesis of this is. From a comic, from builder 2nd Life Bricks' imagination? I don't know, or care really, because it's awesome. And I could totally see Red Skull barreling down the highway in this beast, I like to imagine with classical music playing on the stereo (very loudly to be heard over that massive engine). LEGO has a knack for revealing the following year’s sets at San Diego Comic Con and it looks like they’ve done their first reveal for this year with the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman Mech vs. Poison Ivy Mech (76117). It contains 375 pieces and retails for $39.99 and it will be available at the beginning of 2019. The Firefly minifigure is new but all of the other minifigures we’ve seen before but with updated printing.
