My old pal Thorsten Bonsch continues his series from Elder Scrolls Online with this impressive rendition of a Wayshrine.  As Thor describes in his post, they're basically jump gates, enabling players to travel between them, from region to region.  They vary in design based on the area in which they are built, this one exhibiting Nord architecture.  I particularly like what resemble Viking ship's bows at the gable ends of the roof.  Nice work there, Thor! Ah, Iron Builder. No event draws out such a selection of high quality builds so quickly as a round of Iron Builder - and a new one has just begun! This month's challenger Grant Davis has just posted his first build with the "balloon" pieces; a lovely, serene scene of a lily-pad on a pond. This is only the first of what I'm sure will be plenty of great builds posted over the next month, and I can't wait to see what else Grant and his opponent come up with as the competition heats up! The DF-47 Hawk is a “polyvalent starfighter” designed by BobDeQuatre for the Mars Conglomerate. Built to patrol the borders and escort freighters, the fighter compensates for its lack of armor with excellent maneuverability. Another brilliant entry into the Real World +200 Starfighter Contest, this stud-less LEGO starfighter looks lighting-fast in white and red. Bob has done well to achieve the varied angles for the nose and wings. The light touch of blue in the radome, and the clever detailing with LEGO’s new curved and quarter circle tiles, all add to the allure of this awesome spacecraft. I love it when builders pay homage to classic space – there’s something about the gray and blue livery that immediately reminds me of my childhood. Tim Goddard has used the novel Nexo Knight “Nexogon” piece to create the wonderful triangular shaped engines of this small space shuttle. Nary a stud in sight, this sleek creation looks superb, especially the highly detailed greebling of the underbelly and engines. The rear hatch and cargo area look great, and I love the shaping of the nose with the clever use of the trans-yellow X-Wing canopy.
