2023 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 3 [Feature]

Do you hear that, readers? That’s the sound of Christmas getting ever closer! And what better way to count down to the big day than with day 3 of TBB’s LEGO advent calendar roundup? That’s just what we’re doing, so why not join us as we open up the City, Friends, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel calendars on offer this year?

As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 3…

Still no minifigures in the City calendar, but we have got this rather charming reindeer! It’s an animal in Friends too, with a cute puppy. I don’t think that’s a chocolate treat it comes with…

While City hasn’t had a minifigure yet, we’ve already got two in Marvel! It’s Spider-Man in a Spidey-themed ugly sweater, with some blinged-up shooters that we’ll surely get some web for. Star Wars has the Mandalorian’s modified N-1 starfighter; we get another candy shop counter in Harry Potter.

Bart: LEGO, where whipped cream can also represent a cochlea but also a turd.

Kyle: Little known fact: Spiderman swaps out his web-shooters for tinsel dispensers around the holidays. The Sinister Six end up picking it out of their costumes until well past New Year’s. Star Wars takes today with a superb starfighter.

Ben: The brick built reindeer looks off to me, more dictating someone’s garden than actual reindeer, but the N-1 is the star in a relatively meh day.

Daniel: Friends dropping a turd, literally. The N-1 is cool, and who doesn’t like LEGO sweet treats. Switching the default white web effects for gold makes me wish that LEGO had used transparent plastic all along, then they could use white for the holidays.

Lino: It isn’t Christmas until someone soils the carpet. Am I right? That poop would have been more timely for day 2 instead since it is a number two… I’ll just let myself out. The N-1 is pretty sweet though.

Affirmation, if we ever needed it, that Lino reigns supreme as our resident pun-meister. Who would’ve thought one reddish-brown piece could generate so much discussion? Certainly not me…
