I can't decide which is more impressive, the likeness and perfect rendition of this Buzz Lightyear by Legohaulic, or the fact that it was built in one day, in public no less! When invited to build live at Florida's Strawberry Festival Tyler packed up all his basic brick and free built this guy in 10 hours, amazing. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy
I've always had a soft spot for Trollies. Maybe it was visits to see my grandfather in the San Fransisco area when I was a kid, I don't know, but I've always liked this venerable form of public transportation. This trolly was built by David FNJ as his 12th and final entry into the ABS Builder Challenge Season 1 Finale and it turned out fantastic. Original linkOriginal author: Tommy
I've never seen this haunting image of Neo-Tokyo's dystopian harbor with Tetsuo's face, I'm not sure of it's origins. But the awesome LEGO depiction of it is by builder gan.marco, and it's excellent. It's also enough to make me think to myself that it's been too long since I've watched Katsuhiro Otomo's animated classic and masterpiece Akira. Time to break out the DVD. It seems like the LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) was a really popular promotion because it has now sold out on Shop@Home less than a week after it started. The promotion has been replaced by the LEGO City Police Helicopter (30351) and this promo will run until the end of the month. You can get it for free with purchases of $35 or more and it is the same promo that was ran for the first half of March. As for the Mini Volkswagen Beetle, there may still be some left at LEGO Brand Stores. You may want to give them a call to see if they have any left before you head out.
