LEGO builder Jaka Kupina is no slouch when it comes to creating stunning architectural detail. Take this Foenwor Mine, for instance. The brick textures and snowy rooftops are a sight to behold. Not only that but it has a neat story to go with it. In Jaka’s own words; “In Mitgardia, deep in the Heavenly Mountains dwarves are mining. Very brave men who spend most of their time deep under a dangerous mountain. The mines are rich in iron ore and attract blacksmiths from distant lands. Their mined ore makes the best iron from which they make powerfull weapons for fearless warriors and strong pickaxes for hardworking miners. A real treasure of Mitgardia.” I never considered a career in ore mining but if I can call this intricate structure my workplace, I may reconsider. But alas, for once in my life, I just may be too tall for the job. The...

The end of SHIPtember (September’s month-long space ship building contest) doesn’t mean the end of massive spaceships built from LEGO bricks. Any time of year is a great time to build a spaceship, as proven by this slim stellar marvel by Oscar Cederwall. Featuring a minimal color scheme of light gray and dark red, ans sporting what may very well be the single longest greebly section I have ever seen (the thin strip of random gray bits and bobs along the front). Seen from the back, several subtly angled sections blend together very well, and a few textured parts along the top provide a nice bit of visual interest. Here and there, an alternate colored piece gives the ship a naturally weathered look. The post A super-slim LEGO spaceship full of great details appeared first on The Brothers Brick. With all the tiny plants, bouquets, and succulents available in the LEGO Botanical Collection, I thought it was important to bring the brick-built flower back to its roots, pun intended. And with only 162 pieces, we can enjoy all the upscaled glory of my take on a trio of the original LEGO flower from 1977 sitting on a tri-stem piece from that same year. This is going to find a great home on my desk alongside my similarly-scaled creations. Now off to get the parts for white and red versions of the build… The post The one flower missing from the LEGO Botanical Collection appeared first on The Brothers Brick. It’s not every day that we here at TBB review something that’s not found on the LEGO store shelves. But with the Bricklink Designer Program about to launch pre-orders for Series 1 in a few days, we were offered the opportunity by Bricklink to review one of the sets in advance: the Snack Shack designed by Stefan Cornelissen (Distracted Bldr). In addition to the advance copy of the set, we were also able to sit down with Stefan over video chat to talk about his inspiration, specific design choices, and intended implementation of his model. But what did we think of the limited edition set? How does this product differ from something in the LEGO Ideas line? And what did Stefan have to share with us? You’ll have to read on to find out! BDP Series 1 – Snack Shack will be available for pre-order from Bricklink starting Feburary 7th (with...
