In some news over in the sustainability front, it has been reported that The LEGO Group has abandoned their efforts to use recycled plastics for their bricks after findings that the new material caused higher carbon emissions. As reported from the Financial Times and Reuters, the plastics from recycled polyethylene terephthalate led to higher emissions in which the company is trying to reduce to greenhouse gas emissions by 2032 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The new bricks made from recycled bottles were revealed back in 2021 would also required new equipment to produce over the product’s lifetime. LEGO Anatomy by legotruman is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 650 piece build features a minifigure with half of it showing the insides and teaches children about human anatomy through LEGO building. Once upon a time, I was displaying my LEGO Beatles album covers at a crowded event on a tightly packed table, and a handsy child reached over the barricade. *TOUCH* Propped on easels, the thirteen album covers fell like dominoes. The MOC on the end shot dramatically in the air, flipping three times in slow motion. I leapt to the table’s edge, and caught “Please, Please Me” inches before it crashed to the floor. Toys R Us in the Asia Pacific region has started a new promotion called the LEGO Mini Hobby Series which features a series of small builds revolving around various hobbies. Each week until the end of October, there will be a new build to collect when you spend a certain amount. They aren’t listed as the annual Bricktober sets although TRU Canada lists them as part of the Bricktober deals. We’ll see if they come as LEGO Insiders Rewards in the future. We’ve received word that the “sold out” LEGO Disney 100 Years Celebration (40600) gift with purchase set will be coming back in a few days. From September 23-30, you can get the set with $100 purchase of LEGO Disney and Disney DUPLO. This also excludes Star Wars and Marvel even though they’re owned by Disney. If you remember, the Disney 100 Years Celebration promotion went live in July and it sold out in less than a day. LEGO Brand Stores also reportedly didn’t get much in stock as well.
