In a nice surprise, Amazon has listed a previously unknown summer 2018 LEGO City set with the Capital (60200). The details regarding the pricing and piece count are not known at this time but it looks to be in the scale of the previous large-scale City sets like the Town Square and City Square (60097). Included in this set are thirteen minifigures, a double-decker bus, a four-wheel crane, and some smaller vehicles. There’s also a mobile ice cream cart along with a standalone hot dog stand as well. There’s also a small skate ramp with a basket on one side but the bigger buildings include a museum and a hotel. I've always loved Jawas, especially the plastic cape one I had as a kid, and gave away to the kid down the street, along with the rest of my collection, and a Death Star play set (12 year old me was a frickin' idiot). First let me say that bigger isn't always better, but sometimes it's certainly an attention getter. I had the pleasure of seeing this incredible castle by fraserratzlaff in person at BrickCon, and I know my initial reaction was a sincere and appreciative low whistle to myself, with a quiet "whoa, that's big". But that's just the initial reaction, after that was several minutes of eye feasting. It's so big that even with three large photos here, you haven't seen nearly all of it. Our pals at the LEGO Car Blog accurately predicted my reaction to this outstanding rendition of Darth Vader's iconic ship from builder Jerac. There's so many cool details and accurate styling on it I don't know where to start, I'll just point enthusiastically at the screen and make "ohh ohh" sounds, ok? Fun Fact: While it's a romantic notion to think this was Darth Vader's ship because he's a super baddie and needed an equally badass ship, the design has a much more practical origin, namely to be able to tell who's who during the battle of Yavin. I would say that most of us in the LEGO community, at one time or another, have experienced the overwhelming compulsion to build something; from spaceships, to castles, to superhero figures, and of course, spaceships.  Or, if you're like WTyler, the National Mall in Washington, D.C.  Since his retirement from the video game industry several years ago, he's occupied his new-found free time with LEGO.  Crossword puzzles and golf just weren't doing it for him.  Not having built with LEGO as a child, he was sucked into the hobby starting with the LEGO Advent Calendar, then on to the Architecture Series.  That's where he really got to thinking, "Hey, I've got the Lincoln Memorial and the US Capitol, why not build everything in between?!?"  He's only a year into this ambitious four year project, but he's got a lot to show for it.  Obviously there have been some challenges, like getting...

The May/June 208 German flyer is now available and inside there’s a new promotional set that looks to be very interesting. From June 4-24 with purchases of 65€, you can get a free LEGO Creative Personalities (40291) set which is a set based on Hans Christian Andersen and his stories. As you can see from the image above, it is a pop-up book build that shows Andersen writing a story outdoors on a cobblestone area. The other side of the book shows a water area with a white swan. This is presumably based on the popular fairy tale story, The Ugly Duckling. There’s no word at this time whether or not this promotional set will be available here in the states.
