UK builder Jamie Douglas always thinks, and builds, big. In 2015 he built a giant train station  Manchester Brickadilly, and now he's turned his attention to the Palace of Westminster.  That's the British Houses of Parliament, the Commons and the Lords, to you & me. Fun facts:  To create this monster build, Jamie used parts from 10 of the Big Ben sets (#10253), as well as a large number of Bricklink orders.  So if you find the price of Tan elements has gone up, you know who to blame. The whole thing uses in excess of 50,000 pieces, and took 235 hours to build, which doesn't include the 25 - 30 hours planning time. Earlier today, the LEGO Dimensions social media pages released a little Adventure World randomizer and at the end, it shows some levels from a couple of upcoming expansion packs which you can play in. In the image above we see the city of Astoria, Oregon from The Goonies Level Pack (71267). If you look real closely, you can see the Astoria Country Club as well as the One Eyed Willy’s cave below. The other image that is shown is for the LEGO City Fun Pack (71266) where you can see LEGO City itself and some of the locations such as the police station on the bottom left, Albatross Prison on the bottom right, and Jethro Hayes’ Farm on the top left. The next LEGO Minecraft set I’ll be reviewing from the 2017 wave is The Witch Hut (21133). The set has 502 pieces and retails for $59.99. The contents of the box includes four numbered bags, one unnumbered bag of plates, and two instruction booklets. Minifigures There are only two minifigures in this set. Alex is in her usual olive green torso with brown pants. She wears an iron armor piece and her accessories are a couple of shovels. The other minifigure in the set is the Witch. She has a purple torso with some green going vertically down the middle. The legs are of the short brown variety. The head and hat are actually one molded piece. Here’s a very interesting rumor coming out of Brickset regarding the future of the LEGO Nexo Knights theme. They are reporting that Blocks magazine has gotten information that the theme is “being cancelled and the summer sets may not even be released.” There was no source given and I haven’t heard anything about the theme being cancelled from the usual sources so I am somewhat skeptical about it. We did see the summer 2017 sets at the New York Toy Fair so we know there are sets coming but that also doesn’t mean much. This could also mean the wave will have a short shelf life and be fazed out, similar to LEGO BIONICLE and LEGO Mixels in their last waves. The Surf Rescue project by LegoSurfRescue is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This project shot up to the top of the mountain in the past day earning over 6000 supporters in the last few days. It features a non-licensed idea beach scene but more importantly it sends a message. In his last update, Damien stated that he has only about 6-10 weeks to live due to Stage 4 melanoma skin cancer and this project he has created with his son brings awareness to always be sun smart by protecting yourself when outdoors. The project now joins The Blues Mobile, SEGA Classic Arcade Machines, Dungeon Master, Red Arrows Hawk, Venetian Houses, and Jeep Wrangler, NBC’s The Office, Tron Legacy Cycle, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as the projects to reach the First 2017 Review Stage. For those that don't know, the Unaussprechlichen Kulten is a fictional book from Robert E. Howard's short stories, and was later referenced by H.P. Lovecraft, so you know it's got some dark mojo.
