2024 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 17 [Feature]
Opening up a new set of LEGO gifts each day is a great day to mark the passing of time. Why not make Advent calendars for every day of the year? Think about it, LEGO! I’m sure the crack design team can come up with a few hundred more Star Wars micro builds each year, right? For now, let’s enjoy our calendar gifts when we can get them in December. All six of them: Friends, Disney, City, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Spider-Man!
As ever, our intrepid TBB team is on hand with witty comments, insightful observations, and bad jokes for each day’s builds. And of course, you can add your own thoughts in the comments section each day! So without further ado, let’s crack open the build for day 17…
The Friends family can start their holiday baking thanks to today’s kitchen build. Disney offers its first build not tied to any Princess – a Christmas tree!
City brings us closer to the big day with Mrs. Claus, who has been put in charge of the naughty list. Harry Potter offers some sort of lumpy asymmetrical throne in Hogwarts Express colors. Maybe this one will become clearer in time.
Spider-Man swings in with a cozy fireplace with a pair of stockings hung with care. Star Wars remembers for the first time since day 1 that there’s a holiday theme as Luke shows up with a Tatooine sweater and his Jedi saber.
This might be our most festive day yet with everyone bringing holiday vibes. Luke’s green sweater is sure to be a crowd pleaser, but what are the others feeling today?
Theo: Another fantastic tabletop build from Friends! That’s a great little baking setup.
I know we get one almost every year, but there’s something about that fireplace that I really like.
Daniel: Mixer with milk and eggs is cute. I like the Ms. Claus minifig, but that tree is another disappointment.
Kyle: Not in love with any of the Christmas trees we’ve seen thus far. The mixer is pretty great, and so are the Spidey and Venom stockings. The Hogwarts Express toy train needs some help, though… And a Ford Anglia in front of it.
Bre: I’m sad that the Hogwarts Express is a downer. I barely even recognized it at first. The baking setup is nice though. I also like the figs.
The Friends mixer seems to have won everyone over today. Or maybe we all have fresh-baked cookies on the brain. Luke, that’s not how you mix dough! While the Hogwarts Express is underwhelming, it does make a nice place for Mrs. Claus to sit.
Luke felt a bit disappointed that he came with a weapon instead of a warm beverage, but his sister has him covered.
