There are new reports that the LEGO Super Mario theme could be retiring by summer 2024. The Adventures with Mario (71360), Adventures with Luigi (71387), and Adventures with Peach (71403) Starter Courses were supposed to be produced until July 2026 but it looks like that date has been pushed up to July 2024. This piece of news is interesting as the new LEGO Donkey Kong were just announced and won’t be available until August. This means the sets will only be available for about a year or so while the existing sets will be done by July 2024. There’s no reasoning on why the End-of-Life date was pushed up but it’s easy to assume that the LEGO Super Mario sets don’t do as as LEGO had expected them to do. A Mexico LEGO Certified Store, legostoresmx, has revealed a new LEGO Taco Stand (5007866) gift with purchase set. From the looks of it, the set may be exclusive to Mexico for a limited time with purchases of $3,999 MXN which is about $227 USD. The set features a taquero stand with a spit and a minifigure of the cook. The promotion starts today but doesn’t specify an end date. One of the new LEGO Star Wars sets that was just released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi was the Emperor’s Throne Room (75352). It has 807 pieces and retails for $99.99. Minifigures There are three minifigures in the set Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine. Luke is in his black outfit that has some metallic silver on the belt which is new for 2023. The right hand has the black glove for his artificial hand. He has a double-sided head showing a smile on one side and a stern look on the other. The tan side swept hair is actually exclusive to this set. His accessory is his green lightsaber. Darth Vader uses the same torso that was introduced a few year ago. Last week, it was revealed that Lucasfilms employees got a LEGO Star Wars Lucas Yoda Fountain (6471930) for the May the 4th celebration. The building instructions for the set are now available courtesy of rarest_lego_minifigures along with some of the parts list. Next up on my review of the LEGO Harry Potter banner sets, we take a look at the Ravenclaw House Banner (76411). It has 305 pieces and retails for $34.99. Minifigures We have three minifigures in this set, Luna Lovegood, Cho Chang, and Michael Corner. Luna has on the black robes with some of the inner clothes showing at the top.
