Last month, Universal announced their plans for the Jurassic World franchise which included an animated LEGO Jurassic World short and today we have details of it and it is called LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit. It is a two-part special that will be a prequel to the 2015 Jurassic World and it will be airing on NBC November 29 at 8pm EST/PST. It will also be streamable the next morning on NBC.com. There will also be a DVD with exclusive content that will be coming out on January 15, 2019. Today LEGO celebrates an amazing ten years of LEGO Ideas as a crowdsourcing platform for fans. It all started back in 2008 as LEGO CUUSOO during the beta phase and it eventually changed to LEGO Ideas which we now have today. The first set made for CUUSOO was the Shinkai 6500 Submarine (21100) and the first one under the LEGO Ideas name was the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). Barnes & Noble has officially announced the details of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts event on November 17. On that day starting at 2pm local time, there will be activities held including building a themed LEGO set but the thing that people have been waiting for was the details of the LEGO Harry Potter Bricktober 2018 (5005254) set. You will be able to get the set with any LEGO purchase of $75 or more, while supplies last. Earlier today, a district court in China ruled against four companies for infringing multiple LEGO copyrights by producing and distributing LEPIN-branded imitation products. The companies were ordered to “immediately cease producing, selling, exhibiting or in any way promoting the infringing products” and to pay LEGO 4.5 million RMB in damages (about $650,000 US). The four companies, including Shantou Meizhi Model Co. among others, were held liable by the Guangzhou Yuexiu District Court for copying 18 specific LEGO sets and multiple minifigures in addition to “carrying out unfair competitive acts.” Niels B. Christiansen, CEO of the LEGO Group commented that the rulings “send a clear warning message to other companies who may be copying LEGO products,” and that the company will continue to “take all necessary legal actions to protect our intellectual property rights.” The ruling is another significant legal victory for LEGO as the company continues to battle imitators in China....
