This lovely little micro MOC by soccerkid6 of the tranquil city of Rivendell could be yours. It’s actually one of the prizes for the Colossal Castle Contest which kicked off yesterday (Yes, Nerdvember and CCC in the same month, you have some building to do). This would look awesome on any trophy shelf, especially mine… Original linkOriginal author: Tommy
It’s here, Nerdvember is here! It’s time to break out the Nerdly instructions and get the creative juices flowing for BrickNerd’s annual building contest! We want you to build our mascot Nerdly, but not just any Nerdly, we want to see you get creative with him. The theme this year is Video Games. Everything from the glorious first days of Pong to the incredibly popular Fortnite, and chunky 8-bit to millions of polys. We want you to find inspiration in all the wonderful pixel-based-time-wasters of the last four decades. Yes, it’s been over forty years of blips and boops and sore thumbs, and who knows how many thousands of games. We think you’ll agree there’s a whole lot to inspire some amazing creations and you have a whole month to build. Just join the official Flickr group, blow on the cartridge, grab a joystick and start building, you have until midnight...
I will admit that when I heard there was going to be a modern Wonder Woman movie I was skeptical, especially considering the track record of DC movies (I’m looking at your Batman Vs Superman) but I was very pleasantly surprised by Gal Gadot’s portrayal and Patty Jenkin’s direction (can we PLEASE get some more female directors Hollywood?) There’s still a soft spot in my heart for Linda Carter, but this new Wonder Woman kicks some serious butt. And this sculpture of her by builder manufacturajarema kicks an equal amount of said butt. It’s finally here, October 31st, Halloween! We’re not planning much here at BrickNerd headquarters, but we have almost 10 pounds of candy, some fun decorations (including zombie flamingos!) and Beetlejuice is on the TV. Everyone have a spooky and safe day out there! Original linkOriginal author: Tommy
This lovely little cottage by builder Full Plate looks right out of the pages of a classic fairytale. With it’s picture perfect setting and rustic charm it’s very welcoming. And while the overall MOC is fantastic, that thatched roof is the stand-out feature. It’s a huge investment in bars and clips, but you’ll have to agree it’s worth it.
