After the release of the LEGO Icons Tropical Aquarium (10366), LEGO has revealed an upcoming LEGO Insiders reward item coming soon with the LEGO Fish Tank (5009626). There is no information yet on how much Insiders points it will cost or when it will be available but but the link does say Black Friday so we can assume it’ll be available then or even before during the LEGO Insiders Weekend event. The set has 150 pieces and it features a small fish tank that sits on a rock cave. Inside the tank, there’s a larger blue fish that looks like a blue tang fish with some smaller ones surrounding it along with some plants. When CMF Series 27 launched, I put together a list of twelve minifigure mascots and icons that needed a remake in the vein of the Collectible Minifigure line. The community response was overwhelming—so much so that many readers offered suggestions for who should appear next. This follow-up is for you. Here are the original 12: The lineup from the last CMF Draft Back by popular demand, this is the Next 12 LEGO Characters Ready for a CMF Remake. Ground Rules Like with the previous series, I have a set of ground rules I’d like to try and adhere to as much as possible when it comes to entry selections. Minifigures who’ve received a redesign sometime in the last decade will not be on this list. For example, themes like Adventurers are very much on the minds of the designers at LEGO right now. Johnny Thunder has received two major redesigns recently....

Today we feature a guest article from one of BrickNerd’s patrons Liz Puleo. She shares her experience building and modding LEGO Icons 10366 Tropical Aquarium. Tank You Very Much Two fish are in a tank. One said, “Do you know how to drive this thing?” and the other said, “Ahhh, a talking fish!” If only fish could talk, they’d probably tell you a better story about this tank than I will. Hey there, BrickNerd readers! It’s been a while—two years, to be exact. While LEGO hasn’t disappeared from my life completely, it’s definitely taken a back seat. So when my friends at BrickNerd reached out and asked if I’d be interested in another set mod (read: rip apart physically and metaphorically), of course I said yes. Who doesn’t want new LEGO? Especially after having so much fun with my first aquatic review, What the Shell? While I’ve attended a few LEGO...

When I first saw the images of 72046 LEGO Nintendo Game Boy, I didn’t like it much and would have never considered buying it. It has mostly light and dark bluish gray pieces, which are not that attractive for a person who likes to build with interesting parts. But then I watched a few reviews (I remember Tiago Catarino’s one especially) and got struck with an idea—what if I use the Game Boy’s display as… a display? Spoiler alert… Press Start: The Plan I started concocting elaborate construction plans for modding the LEGO Game Boy by integrating actual physical game scenes into it. (This was before I even got my hands on it!) Last week I finally got the chance to see it in person. Heads up, this won’t be a review of the set and me telling you what I like and dislike about the set… but in one sentence:...
