LEGO has put up a pretty cool sweepstakes item in the Rewards Center as you can try to win a copy of the LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime (10302) signed by iconic voice actor Peter Cullen. If you’re not familiar with Cullen, he has lent his voice for Optimus Prime since the original series in 1984 and many Transformers shows and movies since then. Each entry costs 50 Insider points and you can have a max of 50 entries. The sweepstakes ends on October 22 and there’s the usual country restrictions. Whilst enjoying this year’s visit to LEGO House as part of my trip to Skaerbaek Fan Weekend, I played in an area that I hadn’t really taken part in before; the Creative Lab in the Red Experience Zone. The content here changes more frequently than some other areas and at the time it was concentrated on the ‘Build the Change’ campaign to ‘Help the sea turtles.’ Help the Sea Turtles Staff explained that climate change is affecting sea turtles because the sand where they make their nests is both disappearing and getting too warm. A turtle’s sex at birth is determined by how hot the sand around their nest was whilst they were an egg. This means that as global temperatures rise, the proportion of turtle eggs hatching as females is growing, making it harder for them to find male mates. In less than 12 hours, the new LEGO Star Wars Collectible Clone Wars E (5008162) promotional item is now out of stock on the LEGO Shop for various parts of the world. The US is out of stock but you can still check your local LEGO Brand Stores to see if they still have any. Considering you needed to purchase the UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser (75367) to get it with its high price point, I’m surprised to see it out of stock so quickly but then again, the Venator was a pretty hyped ship when it was first revealed. As a result, the secondary market is reflecting that for GWP as some has already sold for upwards of $50. The set doesn’t go on sale that often online as it is a Billund exclusive at the LEGO House itself. The 2023 Toys of the Year Awards were handed out today and not surprisingly, LEGO came out a winner in a few categories. One of the non-toy related ones included the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year which they won the bronze award for LEGO Replay.
