This dynamic duo of LEGO mechs is brought to you by Marco De Bon purveyor of, well, some pretty awesome mechs, and other stuff, but mostly mechs. Goliath is looking rugged adorned in desert tan armor while Wasp is mostly white because, well, you know. Marco tells us that both are constructed with the same inner frame but each has a different external vibe. I seem to favor Goliath for its Southwestern flavor. Which is your favorite? Today, The LEGO Movie celebrates the 10th anniversary of its theater premiere. It was a global phenomenon that earned $468 million during its theatrical run. As a result of its success, it spawned a direct sequel and a couple of spinoff movies including The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, The LEGO Batman Movie, and The LEGO Ninjago Movie. It also introduced new fans to LEGO who weren’t really fans before the movie came out which wasn’t a bad thing for LEGO. A decade later, we’re still getting LEGO movies with the next one coming called Piece by Piece, a biopic featuring Pharrell Williams. Builder h2brick has been going “bizonkers” with a series of LEGO Adventure Time creations on his Flickr page. And his recent rendition of Boom Boom Mountain is “tops blooby” in my book, for sure. For those not familiar with the series, this particular mountain is in quite a bit of distress, being forced to endlessly watch men roughhouse in a village down at its base. This has gone on for centuries, but hopefully Finn and Jake (also depicted here in micro-scale form) can help. It’ll take some doing, but maybe they can cease the avalanche of boulder-tears from this agonized alp.
