Today’s BrickNerd article comes from guest contributor Becky Needham, an AFOL from Dickinson, North Dakota. Her favorite themes are Star Wars, SPACE!!, Batman, City... actually, she just loves all of them! From North Dakota to Washington The LEGO convention season is an exciting time, with the anticipation of getting to see old LEGO friends again and making new connections. As I think about possible convention plans for this summer, I find myself reflecting back on my first LEGO convention: BrickCon 2016 in Seattle. The theme for BrickCon that year was “Madness,” which feels like a fitting description for someone starting out on their very first AFOL community LEGO adventure! This is especially true for someone who lives in North Dakota (USA), which isn’t exactly known for having any connections to LEGO or LEGO conventions. Dickinson, ND, where my friend Renee and I both live, is in the rural southwest corner of...

From time to time, I like to take a break from the Adult in AFOL and connect with a different core audience of my kids to see what LEGO means to them. My in-depth, multi-faceted, impartial discussion panel (my three sons aged 4, 8, and 9) has previously weighed in with their interpretations of the symbols found in LEGO instructions, LEGO colors, and LEGO part nicknames. This time, I’m asking them to take a look at a few different Castle theme factions over the years and see what their symbols mean to them.. It’s a grand time for Castle factions fans, with one confirmed new faction on the way via a fan vote and possibly another on the way. Revival sets of classic themes like 2002’s The Lion Knights’ Castle have breathed life into long-dormant factions. Will these factions, new and old, battle it out like an episode of Game of...

Next up on our reviews of the LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets, we take a look at the Raptor Off-Road Escape (76972). The set has 285 pieces and retails for $39.99. Minifigures There are only two minifigures in the set Reuben Delgado and Isabella Delgado. Reuben has on a red sweater with a blue marking on the chest. He also is shown wearing some blue shorts which are dual molded legs. His double-sided head shows him with a content look on one side and a scared look on the other. His accessories include a radio and an orange revolver which I think is a flare gun. Isabella wears a pink sweater with a pelican on the front. She also wears a pink backpack to complete her look. Her double-sided head shows her with a smile on one side a a scared look on the other. Her accessories include the Baby Dolores...

For eight years, the devs over at Team Kanohi has been hard at work in making BIONICLE: Masks of Power but that has changed as the game has been officially cancelled. In a statement that has been released, it seems that The LEGO Group has asked for the fan-made game to be shut down entirely and basically erase it from the public eye. It was mentioned that there had been no issues with LEGO and they even endorsed it in their Bits N’ Bricks podcast three years ago. The only reason that Team Kanohi thinks why LEGO wanted them to shut down the game was it was easy to mistake it as an official LEGO product. Team Kanohi has been renamed to Unmasked Games and the plan now is to use the knowledge from making BIONICLE: Masks of Power to create a new game codenamed Project Rustbound. The post BIONICLE: Masks...
