The LEGO Group has had many mascots and icons for its various in-house themes, video games, and other media that are still fondly remembered by fans of LEGO and referenced by the company today. Today’s guest post comes to us from Jesse Gros who shares how he found LEGO, collected hundreds of thousands of pieces, and built something amazing that sparked a personal creative resurgence. For years, I would come home after work and crack open a beer, or two… or three.  Some of this ritual was to help me relax and take the edge off at the end of the day. Barnes & Noble, out of all places, have teased a new LEGO Sherlock Holmes set that will be revealed on April 29. The short video shows a Sherlock Holmes minifigure looking through a magnifying glass. The LEGO Coral Reef Diorama (40783) is now available as a gift with purchase set on the LEGO Shop. The set has 260 pieces and you can get it with purchases of $150. This is the second of four for the Wonders of Nature line of GWPs for this year. The coral reef sits on a tan base ocean floor with an underwater cave area in the back. There’s a number of vibrant colored plant life filling the whole ocean floor as well as on top of the cave. Also included are some marine life such as a starfish in the front, a school of blue fish, some orange fish around the back, and a jellyfish that uses a glow-in-the-dark piece for the tentacles. It’s been a little over four years since I volunteered to lead our community group, LUGVegas, also known as the LEGO Users Group of Southern Nevada. The LUG was founded in 2013, and I first joined in early 2017. We are a small group in the area that is known the world over as Sin City; Las Vegas, Nevada.
